DUNNELL, Minn. — A Public Celebration of Life Visitation for June E. Janssen, 93, of rural Dunnell, Minn. was held from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn. A Private Family Burial was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Lake Fremont Cemetery in Dunnell, Minn.

Our precious mother, June Emilene Janssen, was called to her eternal rest on Saturday evening, January 4, 2025. She was born on June 17, 1931, in Estherville, Iowa to August (Duke) and Mary (Senn) Runge. She received her education in the Estherville school system where she graduated in 1949 and later worked for Iowa Guaranty Trust. On March 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Marvin Janssen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn. June and Marvin were married for 54 years before his passing in 2005.

Together, they farmed in Martin County and raised their six children. June was a hard-working farmer’s wife and fiercely dedicated mom who always put family first. She managed a highly active household and worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for her kids and grandkids. June also enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and enjoyed meeting people from the countries where they traveled. June was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn., where she was involved with Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School.

Their marriage was blessed with 6 children; Kathy (Harry) Wenner of Eagle Lake, Minn., David (Louise) Janssen of Sherburn, Minn., Gary (Dorothy) Janssen of Sherburn, Minn., Donna Hoffman of Estherville, Iowa, Diane (Dan) Perkins of Estherville, Iowa, and Barb (Steve) Perlowski of Falls Church, Va.; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren: She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Janssen.

June was preceded in death by her parents - Duke and Mary Runge; husband - Marvin Janssen; daughter- Donna Hoffman; great-grandson - DeSean Hoffman; and other relatives.
