Funeral services for Angela A. Olsen, 60, of Estherville, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spencer. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant city cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 9, at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
A woman of virtue who dedicated her life to the Lord and endured to the end. Angela Ames Olsen was born to Terry and Connie Ames on May 10, 1963 in Provo, UT. Angie was fortunate to live in many places throughout her youth which included Salt Lake City, UT ~ Anaheim, CA ~ Mt. Pleasant, UT ~ Huntington Beach, CA ~ Elkhorn, NE ~ American Fork, UT, and Howell, MI.
After her graduation from high school her family returned to Mt. Pleasant, UT where she met her sweetheart, Jimmy Lee Olsen on a blind date. They were married on July 15, 1983. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Angie was a member of the Avera Relay for Life team and led the cancer support group at Holy Family Hospital for many years.
She worked as an LPN for 7 years, and a registered nurse for 20 years. She took pride in providing care and serving others. Angie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren going camping, motorcycle rides, making sugar cookies, playing games, and attending all of their special events.
Angie is survived by her husband Jim of Estherville, IA; her sons: Jamie (Amber) Olsen of Dakota Dunes, SD, Christopher (Laura) Olsen of Fairmont, MN, Daniel (Ashley) Olsen of Dakota Dunes, SD, Bradley (Haley) Olsen of Fairmont, MN; and her 14 grandchildren: Addyson, Marlee, Parker, Asher, Kaden, Claire, Emory, Shawn, Alexis, Dallin, Ruby, Cameron, Oscar, and Evan. She is also survived by her mother Connie Ames and mother-in-law Verla Smith both of Mt. Pleasant, UT; her siblings Tammy (Steve) Anderson of Marino Valley, CA, Alan (Collette) Ames of Ivins, UT, Alison (Tim) Bennett of Spanish Fork, UT, and David (Mindy) Ames of Mt. Pleasant, UT.
Angie is preceded in death by her father Terry Ames and father-in-law Russel Olsen and step father-in-law Burke Smith.
